All items are subject to availability. Upon payment, items that are in stock will be processed for despatch. Products marked as “pre‑order” are expected to become available during the stated season, as listed on the product, and will be fulfilled once stock arrives at our premises.

Pre‑order availability may change due to factors out of our control, including, but not limited to, weather conditions, crop performance, or supplier limitations. If the exact item ordered becomes unavailable, we may offer a substitution consisting of the same variety in a different size. Where the same variety is unavailable in any size, we may offer a similar variety of equivalent quality and value as a replacement.

The pre-order window for each product is shown on the product page. If an item is listed as “pre-order”, it means we are expecting it to become available during the upcoming season.

To reserve stock, simply place an order and complete payment during the pre-order period. Once the stock arrives at our warehouse, we will begin fulfilling pre-orders, subject to any changes in availability from our suppliers.

If a supplier is unable to provide the exact item ordered, we will offer to substitute it with a suitable alternative in accordance with our substitution policy, and you will receive an email confirming any changes to your order.

While we make every effort to supply the exact items you have ordered, the availability of pre-order bulbs and seeds are subject to change due to factors beyond our control, including weather and growing conditions.

If the exact item ordered becomes unavailable, we may offer a substitution consisting of the same variety in a different size. Where the same variety is unavailable in any size, we may offer a similar variety of equivalent quality and value as a replacement.

If a proposed substitution or replacement is lower in value than the original item, we will automatically refund the difference. If the proposed item is higher in value, we will contact you to arrange payment of the outstanding balance. Orders will not be despatched until any additional balance has been paid in full.

All required amendments to your order will be communicated to you, and you reserve the right to accept or decline any proposed substitution or replacement in accordance with our Refund Policy. Substitution and replacement offers remain valid for 28 days; after this period, we reserve the right to remove the affected item from your order. You will receive email confirmation of any accepted substitutions prior to despatch.You can find our Substitution Policy in Section 3 of our Terms of Service.

The window for when we expect stock to arrive is shown on each product page. Delivery windows vary by product type. Orders placed within the stated delivery window will usually be despatched within 3–5 working days.

Pre‑orders are fulfilled once stock arrives at our premises. Where an order contains items with different fulfilment periods, items may be despatched separately, and each despatch will incur its own shipping charge in accordance with our Shipping Policy.

For the best results, follow the Planting Guides provided for your specific bulbs or seeds. It will give you clear instructions on when and how to plant them, including the recommended planting depth, spacing, soil, watering, and growing conditions.

The sizes shown on our product pages refer to the size of the bulbs you will receive. In general, larger bulbs contain more stored energy, which often results in stronger growth, larger plants, and more flowers. All of the sizes we offer are suitable for planting and are selected to meet high quality standards.

Lilies - measured by their circumference in centimetres (for example, 14/16 cm or 16/18 cm). Larger bulbs typically produce stronger stems and more flowers.

Tulips - measured by their circumference in centimetres (for example, 9/10 cm or 12/+ cm). Larger bulbs generally produce larger, more vigorous blooms.

Ranunculus - graded by size, usually as 3/4, 4/5 or 5/7. Larger bulbs have more stored energy and typically produce stronger plants with a greater number of flowers.

Anemones - graded by size, usually as 3/4, 4/5 or 5/7. Larger bulbs generally establish more vigorously and can produce a greater number of blooms.

Please note that, while larger bulbs generally provide a stronger display, plant performance will also depend on growing conditions, planting time, weather, and ongoing care.

Please note that orders are subject to a cancellation fee if they are cancelled after being placed. This is because stock is reserved specifically for your order. Any applicable cancellation charges are outlined in our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

If you wish to return an order due to an issue with your products, your return request must be made within 14 days of receiving your order. To request a return, please send an email to info@romanbanknurseries.co.uk including your order number and the reason for the return. Further instructions will be provided once your request has been received. Please refer to our Terms of Service and Refund Policy for further details.

All deliveries are handled in accordance with our Shipping Policy.

If your order contains items with different fulfilment periods, we may send them in separate shipments. This is common with seasonal bulbs, which become available at different times of the year.

For example, in-stock items will be despatched immediately, while pre-order items will be sent once available. Shipping charges apply to each separate shipment, as outlined in our Shipping Policy.

This means you can receive available items without waiting for the rest of your order.
